STATEMENT: "GOD IS IN THE DETAIL" IS WHAT AN INSTRUCTOR TOLD ME ONCE WHILE I WAS STUDYING INTERIOR DESIGN. AND I WOULD AGREE. SIMPLICITY IS BEST BUT, NOT ALWAYS THE EASIEST EITHER. WITH THESE TWO NOTIONS IN MIND I THINK ABOUT THE POWER OF MINIMALISM AND CONSTRUCTIVISM IN MY CONCEPTS. I DON'T THINK YOU NEED A LOT TO GET AN IDEA ACROSS OR TO STIR EMOTION IN A VIEWER. I THINK THE BEAUTY ABOUT THE MODERN ABSTRACT PAINTING THAT I DO IS THE IMAGES ARE THERE TO AWAKEN HIDDEN THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS. MY ART IS THERE TO MAKE YOU THINK AND DIG DEEP INSIDE OF YOURSELF AND YOUR SECRETS. YOU MIGHT FEEL FREE TO DISCUSS AND PROVOKE AN INTERESTING CONVERSATION AFTER SEEING MY IMAGES. IF THIS OCCURS I HAVE DONE MY JOB WELL. AND AM THANKFUL YOU HAD AN INTERESTING EXPERIENCE.
MY WORK IS USUALLY DONE DURING AN EMOTIONAL TIME. I FEEL THIS IS WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS BEST. THE MATERIALS I USE ARE SIMPLE: CANVAS, OIL, PLASTER AND WOOD. OCCASIONALLY, ROPE OR MESH OF SOME SORT.
THE INFLUENCES I HAVE EXPERIENCED COME FROM MUSIC, DRAMA OF EVERY DAY LIFE AND INTERIOR DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE.
